My newest Christmas ornaments are ready and have been listed on my website.
I first started creating these beauties back in 2012. Each one of these ornaments are one of a kind.
There are many steps in creating these beauties. I first etch the metal with different sayings, images, etc, from there I then patina the metal. To help preserve it, I spray a light sealer on it. I incorporate items that mingle old with new. The end result, is a piece that reflects not only Christmas, but one of peace.
I chose to use the symbol of the dove. Which in the spiritual meaning, is peace, new beginnings, fidelity, love, luck and prosperity. I believe that with the times that we are, we all could use more of these.
I have incorporated ribbons, metal bells, beads, wire, a feather that I collected on one of my walks, bird eggs, dove, nest, vintage fabrics, some have vintage fabrics that I eco dyed, and a tag with the word.
This would not only make a beautiful ornament for your tree, but you could hang it on a hook, garland or door knob. This could be hung out all year around and make a wonderful addition to any room.
