I wanted to take a few minutes and give out a shout out, to some special people who have affected my life and art.
Sallianne McClelland and Ellen Legare, who are the creative and beautiful souls behind the, Art Is You Retreats will be featured in the upcoming Summer issue of Mingle.
I had the pleasure of meeting these two ladies, a number of years ago, through my friend, JoAnna Pierotti. From the time that I arrived at the retreat, until I left, I was made to feel like family. Now after all of these years later, I have the pleasure of being an instructor, for their retreats.
What is so awesome about their retreats, from the time that you arrive, you feel the energy and creativeness that surrounds everyone. To see everyone, so excited and full of enthusiasm of being there, is awesome! If you are uneasy and lost, there is always someone who is willing to jump in and help. Sallianne and Ellen, go well above and beyond, to give you an experience, that will last, well beyond the event.
Last year, was my first year teaching with, Art Is You Retreats and boy was I nervous and excited at the same time. Tons of, what if's went through my head. From the time that I got there, they eased my worries and I realized, that these two ladies know how to put on an event.
I use to teach years ago and had to quit, due to health issues. Being a bit nervous about coming back into the world of teaching outside of my studio, had me a bit nervous, but Sallianne and Ellen made it feel like I had never quit and for that, I am truly thankful to these two ladies.
I would recommend picking up an issue of Mingle and learning more about their Retreats.
I will be teaching this September, at the Petulma Retreat.
Here are my samples for my classes that I will be teaching. I love taking everyday, discarded, tattered, worn out and vintage items and giving them a new voice for generations to come. We all have a story to share and tell and it is through my art, that I found the voice, to tell my story.
