Here are a couple of my newest journals.  I decided to create a fun blank journal that is light weight and thin.  I hand painted the front with acrylics and sealed it with a sealer.

You could carry this with you, on a walk, car ride, work or wherever you chose to.  It has 10 blank pages and if you count the backsides that would make 20.  You could record a special event, write a note to someone special, sketch, etc.  It allows you to fill into the blank pages, however you choose to.

My next journal, is a blank fabric book.  I have incorporated 34 blank papers and if you count the backsides that would make 68.

I have incorporated vintage and commercial fabrics into this book.

Forward

Well, it seems like forever, since my last post.  I always have the best intentions to post every other day, but life gets in the way and before you know it, another week went by.

I have been putting the finishing touches on my book that I will be teaching in my on-line class for...Artful Gathering.  If you haven't had a chance to visit the site, clink on the link below and it will direct you there.  It is sure to be an amazing event and I am honored to be able to be part of it.

I have created a couple of new books, while I was working on my project.  The first one is called...moments unknown.  

Sometimes, we all want to be and have complete control over every aspect of our life.  We feel that if we can control everything, then maybe nothing bad would happen.  What I have learned from this is, you miss out on life's unexpected moments.  The ones that are unknown and waiting to bless you.  If we give our faith to God and let him control our life, we discover all of these unexpected, unknown moments waiting be discovered and enjoy them so much more, than if we had planned them to happen.

 
 
The second one is called, The butterfly

This one was created with my story in mind.  As some know, I came from an abusive childhood.  Thinking that I would never be something beautiful.  It wasn't until years of working with myself and getting help, that I realized, that I am beautiful from the inside out.   Just like the caterpillar who thought that from all of the struggle and transformation in the cocoon, that life would be over...emerged into a beautiful butterfly.  

That is how it was for me...I spent years working on all of the things that came from the abuse and just like the caterpillar, I wanted to give up many times.  But with determination and faith, I struggled, but didn't give up and from that, emerged a healthy and happy person, who feels beautiful from the inside out.

The morning's whisper

Each day, I try to always start my day off, with a prayer that includes, never letting me miss God's little blessings. I want to always remember to stop and smell the flowers, feel the breeze across my cheek, feels the sun's rays, a bird singing, a child's laughter, etc. I want to remember, to stop and breathe and enjoy the moment that I have been given.

With this in mind, I decided to create some books that reflect this. This is the first one in the series. I hope to have the other two done, within a few days.

finally back....

Well, it feels like I have been away for a while and I guess I have.  I attended the, Artful Journey retreat in California and loved each and every moment of it. 

I took a class with Jesse Reno.  I loved watching him paint and listening to his stories.  Wow, is all I can say, what a talented artist, he is.  I wished that I could of taken classes from the other instructors as they are also, amazing and very talented, but this time around...I decided to take a class that would make me step waaaaaay out of my comfort zone and this one did. 

This time around, I made sure that I took my camera, since it seems that I tend to forget it.  Oh, I took my camera, but forgot the darn sd card that went into it.  I took my earphones, but forgot my ipod...geez.  One of these days, I just might have it together...lol.  I came home and caught a bug and am just now feeling better.  So, no pictures to show you, except what I did in Jesse's class. 

 
 
If you have never been to the Artful Journey retreat, you might want to check into it.  I love this retreat...Cindy, goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and attends to your needs.  She brings in, amazing and talented aritsts.  I can't wait until next year, she will be listing on her site shortly, the teacher line up for 2012.  It looks to be another amazing experience.
