Well, I love using that term, for I believe we all find ourselves from time to time rushing around, overwhelmed with too many commitments or even trying to tackle too many things at one time...so I find that when the Season of Fall, finds it's way to Michigan, it reminds me to slow down, enjoy the colors, take long deep breaths...I still work with myself everyday to smell the roses, notice the small things and tell the ones that I love, how much they mean to me...it just seems that with Fall, it brings it more into focus. Also, I think that with me running around these last 2 weeks, trying to get ready to leave for Art and Soul in Portland, Oregon, next week, probably helped bring that more into reality. I promised myself that I would be more organized this year, so I wasn't running around at the last minute, but here I am again...oh, well, it is all worth it. I will be gone for a week and then back for a day and then head off again for Art Is, in Connecticut. This will be my first time at Art Is art retreat and also doing a back to back convention. I am also in the process of preparing for a vendor show coming up...(details to follow). I have sold my art for years, whether that be in stores, internet, etc., but never at a one day show. So, since, I have been creating my art to sell at this show, I haven't been able to list any in Etsy, but I thought I would show you a couple of books that are for this show...
I love this girl's eye...when I first made her, I didn't like the eyes and planned on changing them, but everytime, I tried, there was something that kept telling me to leave them along...maybe because we all have flaws and she is willing to show the world hers..."accept me as I am".
I love how all of my books seem to explode.
We are all meant for something great...it is up to each of us whether or not we accept the challenge!
I know you're going to have great fun in Portland and Connecticut (where in Connecticut? I grew up there and it's lovely in the fall). Your bo0oks are sure to sell well at your vendor day; they're always so full of beautiful images and textures and sentiments.

I just love your art style, Nellie! Your books are wonderful. I just want to reach into my computer and run my hand over all of the layers of texture you have spilling out of your books. They invite me to open up the book and explore. Have a fantastic time at A & S! That is where I met you in 2006 when you handed me your "Early Morning Thoughts" paperbag book that I treasure today. I certainly agree with you about the magic of fall! Safe journey.
P.S. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such a kind comment. It is always good hearing from you.
