Two Runner Up winners will also be chosen at random for a chance to win a $25.00 e-gift card from Jerrys.

Each week I will announce the next featured blog for you to visit, and there you will find a new secret word or words that you will need to collect along your way from blog to blog. Once you have collected all the words from each blog you visit, they will work out to say a very artsy phrase. Here are the rules:

1. For your chance to win, you must collect all the secret code words and submit them upon the final destination blog in May. A random drawing will be conducted from those contestants who have submitted the complete collection of secret words!
2. Three winners will be randomly drawn. One for the $200.00 e-card to Jerry's, and two runner's up for the 25.00 e-card to Jerrys.

Love xo book

Happy Valentine's day everyone....

I decided to create a book with the theme of this...hearts, love, kisses, xo

The book is made up of vintage fabrics, vintage laces and vintage trims.

I have incorporated a number of vintage buttons, vintage papers, acrylics, embellishments, ribbon, charcoal and inks into this book.

I have included 12 sheets of stonehenge paper and if you count the backsides that would make 24 pages.

Such a small word, yet it carries such power in it....

It brings comfort, warmth, security, laughter, togetherness, family, feeling like you can be yourself and it is ok, a place to hang out and come together as one, support, but most of all...love.

My next piece is all about this...

What I have learned about this small, but powerful word is...home is where you heart is.  

I created a pocket with a tag attached to it.  This allows you to tuck your special thoughts, poems, pencil or trinket in it.

I painted a piece of canvas with acrylics, mediums, inks, paste and an image to the front cover.  

I have included 10 sheets of blank medium weight paper and if you count the backsides that would make 20 pages.

Recycled/Reusable Journal Cover

From June 6 to July 17

In this class, I will teach you how to take everyday, worn out, discarded and vintage clothing and incorporate them into your art.

Step by step, we'll journey through the process of combining different fabric elements and ideas for making this fabulous journal.

I will show you how to create a journal wrap that will
allow you to either display the piece for others to view it or create one that could be used in your everyday routine.

Regardless of how you chose to use your wrap, it will
have others wanting one too!

Not Your Ordinary Photo Album Wall Hanging
From July 15 to August 25

Did you ever wish that you could display your photo album in a creative way or how about create a piece to give as a gift, but with a different twist.
In this class, I will teach you how to create an album out of reusable, found or store bought items and create a showcase piece that will have others wanting you to make one for them.
From the techniques that I share with you in this class, you will come away with many different ways to create this same album, but each one with a different look. Making each one, unique in itself.
With the steps that we go through,I will explain how, by choosing to incorporate that step or opting to leave it out, how it will give you a different piece. I will also show you, that you could opt to display this on a flat surface, instead of hanging it.
This is one album that will have others wanting to view it, over and over again.

dream canvas

My next piece that I have finished up is all about....  

                                        "dreams"

 

We all have dreams, but to actually live them, we need wings to fly and the faith to step out with them.

I have incorporated a number of textures, paste, inks, pencils, charcoal, vintage papers and acrylics to make up these canvases.

I decided to create some paper clay buttons...

A number of vintage fabrics were used to create this fabric piece that hangs down from the bottom.

For the focal point, I incorporated solder, wire, metal, acrylics, image and resin.

This is one of those pieces, that the photos do not due justice to.  The richness and depth is amazing.
