This is exactly what consists of my next pieces....
Here is a little info. on what they mean to me and how I came about creating them.
Sometimes, we go through things, that causes up to stumble and fall. Now that can be anywhere from mistakes we make, losing someone close to us, trusting and being hurt from it, etc. Sometimes, we find that we have to seek an inner strength and faith to pick ourselves up again and go on. We can even feel like we are always patching fragments and remnants of our life, back together. We can come to a point, when we ask ourselves....when will I ever feel whole again, start living again, feel like I can breathe again, who am I now and can I ever be me again?
This is what I have learned from this...if we give God our fragments and remnants over to him. He will piece them back together. Now, why doesn't he cover all of the stitches, pieces and worn looks over, to make them look new again, as if we had never gone through them? Well, if he did...how could we ever be a witness for others, to his grace, healing and love. When others see our fragments and remnants and how God was able to piece them back together and make us whole again... they are able to believe that it will work for them too.
So, when you look at yourself and feel like you are fragments and remnants of life's journey, I pray that you will find the beauty in them and remember, that each piece of our journey, is part of a bigger plan. Remember to take the pieces, have faith, find your wings and fly...
For this piece...."remnants"
I constructed her wings from a fragment piece of a late 1800's ball gown. I incorporated a vintage rosary, vintage buttons, vintage laces and fabrics. I constructed a metal bezel, with the word..."remnants", in it and filled it with resin. It has been attached to a vintage metal piece that came off of a vintage lamp. I formed her skirt from wire and sewed remnants of a ball gown to it. Vintage bisque arms and legs have been incorporated to this piece. I formed a heart out of clay and attached it to a canvas, that I have altered with a number of mediums.

I wanted to created a doll that represented each of us. She has wings to fly, if she will trust in who she is.
For this next piece.....fragments
I hand constructed a bird cage and the wings. The wings are fragments from a late 1800's ball gown. The cage was attached to a canvas that I have altered with a number of different mediums. I constructed and form a bezel, with the word..."fragments". I then filled it with resin. The hanger is constructed from a vintage rosary and rusty piece of chain.

I wanted to create a piece that speaks how each of us, have the ability to fly, if we choose to. Regardless of who we are and where we came from, we all have the gift to change the world...you just need to have the faith and take the leap.
I have two more pieces that I have to show, but they will have to wait until this evening or tomorrow.
I will be listing these in my etsy.
